Basketball Greats Chosen for Excellent Character and Inspirational Lifestyle
ATLANTA, March 7, 2007—Honoring a member of the college or professional basketball community who exemplifies outstanding character and whose life demonstrates the "keys to life" that Coach Wooden lives by, the 2007 Coach Wooden Keys to Life Award will be presented March 31 to one of the four following finalists:
The 2007 Keys to Life Award will be presented on March 31 at the Legends of the Hardwood Breakfast, an annual event hosted by Athletes in Action and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, in partnership with Upward Basketball, during the NCAA Final Four weekend.
Established by Athletes in Action in 1998, the Keys to Life Award honors athletes who model the characteristics of UCLA legend John Wooden, including his high level of moral character, integrity, and faith—on and off the court. Wooden’s legacy reflects the life-long pursuit of a creed his father gave him at age 12, entitled "Keys to Life."
The breakfast, held at the downtown Hilton Atlanta, will feature sports celebrities, including Georgia Tech All-American and former NBA All-Star Mark Price, CBS Basketball Analyst Clark Kellogg, Phoenix Suns Chairman and CEO Jerry Colangelo, Inside the NBA host Ernie Johnson as emcee, and interviews with NCAA Men’s Basketball Division I coaches and players.
Tickets for the 2007 Legends of the Hardwood Breakfast are $150, or $1500 for a table of 10. For registration information, call (800) 416-9473 or visit www.LegendsBreakfast.com.
